Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
On June 6, 1944, a massive Allied invasion of Normandy, France took place, an event that has become known simply as, “D-Day.” The invasion was the beginning of a successful campaign to liberate northwest Europe and, ultimately, to save the world.

“Soldiers from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations faced Hitler's formidable Atlantic Wall as they landed on the beaches of Normandy.” The National WWII Museum Website.
Today, June 6, 2024, marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
It’s appropriate for us to take a moment to thank God for the bravery of those individuals who sacrificed so much for so many during those harrowing days, eighty years ago today.
And, as one24worshipers, may we live each 24-hour day this week with a conscious awareness and gratitude to the One Who gives us life, breath, and freedom!
Enjoy!
David
One Verse/Passage
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV
Two Quotes
Michele Cushatt
“God won’t always rescue me, that is true. But the Bible says He will always be with me. And the divide between the two is the distance between doubt and trust.” Michele Cushatt

John Ortberg
“If you ask people who don’t believe in God why they don’t, the number one reason will be suffering. If you ask people who believe in God when they grew most spiritually, the number one answer will be suffering.” John Ortberg

Four Observations
God Forgives Because God is Faithful - Blog Post by Brandon A. Cox at BrandonACox .com
Excerpt: “We know that God’s forgiveness can’t be deserved or earned, and yet we keep our distance from God because of our inability to deserve or earn his forgiveness.” 👉 Read More…
Live As If Jesus Rules and Eternity Is Real - Blog Post by J. D. Greear at JDGreear .com
Excerpt: “…if we know eternity is real, and that compared to eternity this life is like a vapor and will soon end, isn’t it wise to leverage these brief moments for our coming, permanent reality? In fact, it’s just outright foolish to do otherwise, right?” 👉 Read More…
The Power of Gratitude - Article by Rosario Picardo at BiblicalLeadership .com
Excerpt: “Gratitude is simply saying ‘thank you’ to God. We can show our gratitude by speaking it, through worship and prayer, and giving back our time, talents, and treasure. When we are consumed with gratitude, we quickly forget about those things we think are lacking.” 👉 Read More…

VERSE ONE
“Dear Refuge of my weary soul / On Thee, when sorrows rise / On Thee, when waves of trouble roll / My fainting hope relies / To Thee I tell each rising grief / For Thou alone canst heal / Thy Word can bring a sweet relief / For every pain I feel.”

Apostle Paul: Suffering and Reason Why:
2 Cor. 12:7 The Apostle has asked the Lord to remove a thorn in his flesh. He understood that the thorn was there to "keep him from becoming conceited." He asked the Lord again to remove the thorn in his flesh. In 2Cor. 12:9 Jesus tells Paul that He will not remove the thorn in his flesh because "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Paul finally accepted his thorn in the flesh and excelled in spite of it. To God be the Glory
Jesus Sufferring and the Reason why:
Mark 14:34 -41 Jesus deciples were with Him in The Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus asked them to "Sit here while I pray" He took Peter, James and John with Him. Jesus was troubled and deeply distressed, He told them "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch." He prayed "Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will" Jesus prayed this prayer three times and then told His disciples, v42 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand."
The suffering of Jesus and Paul was one of final acceptance, they both went forward with what they would face. Paul a thorn in the flesh. This could never compare to what Jesus Christ faced: a crown of thorns, beatings beyound our comprehension and death by Crucifixon on a cross. He became the Savior of the world by His death and Ressurrection, and Ascention into Heaven to sit at His Father's right hand. Someday we will see Him face to face and we will see Him as He is. We will bow down and worship the One who gave His perfect life for us. What a Day that will be When My Jesus I shall see!
