Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Our worship of God is integrally tied to our abiding in the Word of God. The two are intended to be inseparable.
Obviously, being mindful as we engage with the Bible will directly impact how we view the God we worship.
The more we become authentically aware of Who He is revealed to be in the scriptures, the more authentically aware we become of how we are to relate with Him in worship.
Our internal impressions of God, acquired by remaining present with Him in the Word of God, will clarify and shape our external expressions of worship to God.
Enjoy!
David

One Verse
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16 ESV
Two Quotes
Scott Hahn
“The story of the Bible is the story of humankind’s journey to true worship in spirit and truth in the presence of God. That is the trajectory, the direction towards which the narrative leads.” Scott Hahn

James B. Torrance
“We are accepted by God, not because we have offered worthy worship, but in spite of our unworthiness, because He has provided for us a Worship, a Way, a Sacrifice, a Forerunner in Christ our Leader and Representative. This is the heart of all true Christian worship.” James B. Torrance

Four Observations
The Five Words of Worship - Article by Chuck Fromm at WorshipLeader .com
Excerpt: “These five words together comprise the full range of worship music’s theological function and, by extension, all the devotional arts. Worship leaders who seek to understand and embrace their role as theologians can find no better place to begin than with a thorough going study of these five words. Within them are the riches of worship as first expressed in Scripture.” 👉 Read More…
10 Benefits from Practicing Mindfulness - Blog Post by Charles Stone at CharlesStone .com
Excerpt: “…mindfulness in the Christian tradition has support in Scripture and church history. It’s a lost spiritual discipline that believers should reclaim. I define mindfulness for the Christian with these two words: Holy Noticing. Holy noticing is noticing with a holy purpose, God and His handiwork, our relationships, and our inner world of thoughts and feelings.” 👉 Read More…
How to Study the Bible - Article by David Platt at Radical .net
Excerpt: “When you sit down to study the Bible, you never study it alone. We should study the Bible like we are having a conversation with God. With the help of the Holy Spirit, there are some principles we can apply to help us study God’s Word and more faithfully understand its meaning.” 👉 Read More…
