Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Today marks 27 years since Rich Mullins passed away in 1997 at the age of 41.
While driving himself and Mitch McVicker to a concert in Kansas, Rich lost control of his Jeep and crashed. Mitch was severely injured and Rich was killed.
Known primarily for his music and lyrics (Awesome God, Step by Step, and Creed), Rich Mullins also had a thought-provoking way of talking about Jesus.
For example, just weeks before his death…
“Christianity is not about building an absolutely secure little niche in the world where you can live with your perfect little wife and your perfect little children in a beautiful little house where you have no gays or minority groups anywhere near you. Christianity is about learning to love like Jesus loved, and Jesus loved the poor and Jesus loved the broken-hearted.”
Rich Mullins, quoted from Lufkin, Texas Concert Transcript, Carpenter's Way Christian Church, July 19, 1997
From my perspective, he lived his short life as a true one24worshiper… step by step. His music and life has had a profound impact on me.
This past summer, Todd Fields and Worship Circle recorded “Step By Step” for their Worship Circle FOUNDATIONS Live Album. I’ve included a YouTube link to that song as one of the Four Observations this week.
Enjoy!
David

Four Observations
Simple Steps to Build a Daily Prayer Routine - from Church.org
Excerpt: “Prayer is a powerful way for Christians to connect with God, seek His guidance, and strengthen their relationship with Him. Despite its importance, many of us struggle to maintain a regular prayer routine. Life gets busy, distractions pile up, and prayer often gets pushed aside. Developing a daily habit of prayer takes effort, but the spiritual rewards make it worth it.” 👉 Read More…
It Comes with a Personal Tutor - by Tim Challies at Challies.com
Excerpt: “The promised Spirit has come, and one of the great helps this Helper performs is a kind of tutoring. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth says it well: ‘Unlike any other book that has ever been written, the Bible is alive; and it comes with a personal tutor—the Holy Spirit, who lives in us.’ After taking up residence within us, the Spirit illumines the truths of the Bible to our minds and hearts so we can know them, so we can understand them, and so we can joyfully do them.” 👉 Read More…
FOR WORSHIP LEADERS: The Power of Psalm 119: Worship Rooted in God’s Word - by Mark Roberts at WorshipLeader.com
Excerpt: “The insights from Psalm 119 offer profound and challenging implications for contemporary worship. As worship leaders, we must ensure that our praise is deeply connected to Scripture, just as the psalmist exemplified. This leads us to reflect on some critical questions…” 👉 Read More…
