Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Take the picture.
When I was growing up, my parents would take lots of pictures… LOTS of pictures. And I’m still sorting through many of them to this day.
Of course, if we didn’t purpose to have a camera with us at all times, we were not going to be capturing any images. Hashtag #PreSmartPhones!
Yes, I know. I “hashtagged” inside of a newsletter. 😀
Earlier this week, a few of us were blessed to lead music at the Highland Lakes Camp in Spicewood, Texas for the Texas Baptist Camping Association Annual Retreat. (Thank you for this invitation, Norman Flowers.)
While there, we reconnected with so many friends that we hadn’t seen in years! And we made some new friends. Regrettably, I only took a few pictures.
It amazes me how often I forget to take pictures these days. I mean, most of us have a “camera” with us at all times!

As each new year begins, I typically look for one word or a short phrase as a focal point or theme for the new year.
After this recent trip to Highland Lakes Camp this week, I’m thinking that one area of “focus” for me during this new year could be… take the picture! 😳 📸
Enjoy!
David

Four Observations
Arthur Blessitt Completed Mission on Earth January 14th, 2025 - by the Late Arthur Blessitt at Blessitt.com
Like so many, my life was deeply impacted by the faith and passion of Arthur Blessitt. Though we never met, Arthur's sincere desire to serve and share Jesus challenged and inspired me. dg
Excerpt: “I, Arthur Blessitt have completed my walk and mission on earth. I departed to heaven on January 14, 2025. I was just a donkey and pilgrim, lifting up the cross and Jesus and loved the people of the world. What a glorious journey of life with Jesus my Lord and Savior. I’ve really been looking forward to this walk in Glory. These feet that walked so far on roads of dirt and tar will now be walking on the streets of gold.” 👉 Read More…
Did God Really Write the Bible? - by Alistair Begg at TruthForLife.org
Excerpt: “When God wanted the book of Isaiah written, He raised up an Isaiah. When God wanted the Pauline Epistles written, He raised up a Paul. And Paul speaks the very word of God, and the people receive it. They don’t just say, ‘We don’t need to listen to this.’ They receive it as it is: ‘the [very] word of God.’” 👉 Read More…
Worship vs. Entertainment: Bridging the Gap in Contemporary Christian Music - by Bruno Di Matteo Miranda at WorshipLeader.com
Excerpt: “The debate over contemporary worship music isn’t really about personal taste, style, or instrumentation. At its core, it’s about theology—what we believe and proclaim about God—and about offering true worship that exalts Him. As worship leaders, pastors, and engaged believers, we hold a responsibility to ensure our worship music is theologically faithful, artistically sincere, and contextually relevant.” 👉 Read More…

VERSE ONE & PRE-CHORUS

I enjoyed the newsletter, especially the article honoring Arthur Blessitt's life. I had never heard of him, until you mentioned his name on the day he went to be with Jesus. I had the privilege of seeing his life's misson on TBN. They had followed and filmed him on many of his walks with the cross. I was truly blessed by seeing his life on film. If anyone needs a reason to follow Christ, they need to watch, Arthur Blessitt, who was and will always be, known as the missionary that carried the cross. He carried it so far that he is in the Guiness World Book of records. The way he witnessed to others about Christ was so amazing. Nothing stopped him, war, hunger, nor, heat or cold. I wish I could have met him. Someday, after I see and talk to Jesus, I'll look forward to talk to Arthur Blessitt.
