Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Last week, I had dinner with a friend who reminded me of how important it is for us to be mindful and aware of the Lord’s presence in every aspect of our lives.
And this week, I had dinner with some friends who reminded me that God always has a plan.
I’ve known Jeff and Donna Gore for almost four decades, ever since Jeff and I were both Youth Pastors at churches in Texas. It was a delight to see them again.
And while it might sound a bit dated, old friendships really are like the Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton song…
You can't make old friends
Can't make old friends
It was you and me, since way back when
But you can't make old friends
Jeff, a legit cowboy, sang and preached at The Country Church last night at our mid-week service. As I typically do, I took notes during the message and in the edition of one24worship, I’m sharing two quotes from Jeff’s sermon that I wrote down in my one24worship Journal.
To find out more about Jeff, check out his YouTube Channel at Jeff Gore Cowboy and Gospel Music.
Enjoy!
David

Four Observations
Don’t Make Church About You - by Erin Wheeler at Crossway.org
Excerpt: “Corporate worship isn’t about having a souped-up quiet time in the company of other Christians. It’s about gathering with God’s people, checking our preferences at the door, and worshiping the one true God in the way he commands.” 👉 Read More…
On Christian Duty - by Alistair Begg at TruthForLife.org
Excerpt: “Christians are bound by obligations—strong ones, tender ones—to present a thank offering to God. Importantly, though, our offering is neither an ox nor a sheep; it’s ourselves. Our praise to God, both through words and deeds, is ‘the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.’ The Christian’s duty to God, then, is to bring his life as a daily offering to God, expressing a thankful heart for the wonder of what He has done.” 👉 Read More…
FOR WORSHIP LEADERS: Has Contemporary Praise and Worship Become Just a Show? - by The Staff at ChurchLeaders.com
Excerpt: “Over the past few decades, praise and worship have undergone a dramatic transformation. Traditional services often featured hymns accompanied by organs or simple acoustic instruments. In contrast, today’s worship services in many churches include full bands, sophisticated audiovisual setups, and worship leaders who engage the congregation with polished stage presence.” 👉 Read More…
SONG “As For Me (Psalm 2)” by Christy Nockels & Nathan Nockels - YouTube Video: Christy Nockels - As For Me (Psalm 2) [Official Live Video]
VERSE ONE, PRE-CHORUS & CHORUS
“Everything that can be shaken is shaking / Everything that can be sifted is sifting / All the kingdoms of this world are unraveling / And if you listen you can hear the nations raging…
“But the Word of the Lord has spoken / That there's a God in the heavens / Reigning over all, rejoicing as He says:
“‘As for Me, I've set my King on Zion, on Zion!’ / ‘As for Me, I've set my King on Zion, on Zion!’”
