Welcome to this issue of one24worship. There are only 24 hours in every day and it truly matters how we live out these precious days each week, one 24-hour day at a time. Every. Day. Matters.
Hence the name, one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, not just a weekly event.
one24worship - a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
One Verse
“‘For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?’” Esther 4:14 ESV
Two Quotes
W. Lee Warren, MD
“…the more I investigated my own experiences and what the Bible has to say about hope, faith, and happiness despite life’s hardships, the clearer it became. I didn’t have to visualize it anymore, because I could see it in real life: Hope doesn’t just happen. Hope is a verb.”

Dan R. Crawford
“Indeed, prayer is not reaching for things in the hand of God, nor for answers in the mind of God, but it is reaching for the very hand and mind of God.”

Four Observations
Worthy of Waste - Article by Kelly Needham
Excerpt: “Jesus is worthy of waste. This is the idea I’ve been chewing on lately. What a subversive idea in a world that’s obsessed with numbers, analytics, growth, results, and efficiency. Jesus is worthy of waste.”
Why Do Bad Things Happen to God’s People? - Article by Matthew Maher
Excerpt: “…as believers in a faithful God, we must develop a thick theology, which means we may not have a WHY for the WHAT, but we can trust the WHO no matter WHAT. Knowing God is sovereign is also knowing that nothing can touch our life without passing through the scarred hands of Jesus Christ. And those hands can be trusted!”
Celebrating Pastor Appreciation Day and Clergy Appreciation Month - Article by Dolores Smyth
Excerpt: “From Pastor Appreciation Month grew the idea of emphasizing one specific day to nationally pay tribute to our clergy. This day became known as Pastor Appreciation Day. Also referred to as Clergy Appreciation Day, this day of showing national gratitude for clergy members is celebrated on the second Sunday in October. In 2023, Pastor Appreciation Day will be Sunday, October 8th.”
In acknowledgement of Pastor Appreciation Day, here’s the SONG “Dear Ordinary Pastor” by Billy Foote from his World Burning Down EP - Dear Ordinary Pastor - Billy Foote
LYRICS
“Dear Ordinary Pastor… I just needed you to know / You’re not that ordinary anymore / Those of you who guard the Bride / And give your soul, your heart, your time / Faithful to the calling of the Lord / Don’t lose sight of your reward / Don’t lose sight of your reward.
Dear Ordinary Pastor… thank you for the things you do / You’re needed more than ever, that’s the truth / Those of you who willingly / Love and serve the least of these / I’m prayin’ for your strength to be renewed / Keep standin’ in the truth / Keep standin’ in the truth.
Dear Ordinary Pastor… the church needs you.”

Current one24worship Poll
Many people take notes during the message at church. Some use a physical handout provided by the church. Others take out their phone and jot some notes down. Of course, there are plenty of mobile apps, too. Still others are “old school” (like me) and bring a journal to write in or a note pad to write on.
So, if you take sermon notes during church, what’s your #1 challenge? Or, to put it another way, if you could solve the #1 problem you have related to taking sermon notes during church, what would that solution look like?

One24worship is excellent. My Bible Study teacher and friend , Jo Beth Young, was such a good person. She died from a rare disease. My dad died from a rare disease. He served God. We can trust the Who no matter What was helpful. Thanks.
