Welcome to this issue of one24worship - a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
I’ve been encouraged by the emails, comments, and feedback I’ve been receiving lately. Thank you.
Of course, I’m under no illusion that everyone will always agree with everything contained in each issue of one24worship. Rather, my hope is that each verse, quote, and observation offered will be received as another weekly prompt for contemplation and reflection.
Enjoy!
one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, not just a weekly event.
One Verse
“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25 ESV
Two Quotes
Sally Morgenthaler
“It is because of the work of Christ on our behalf that we offer ourselves to God. Thus, Christian worship is not only offering all that we are to a Holy God (spirit). It is an intentional response of praise, thanksgiving, and adoration to The God, the One revealed in the Word, made known and accessible to us in Jesus Christ and witnessed in our hearts through the Holy Spirit (truth).”

Sammy Tippit
“We could experience one of the greatest revivals of all time if we would learn to worship. We were created for that purpose.”

Four Observations
Great is the Lord – Yes, But What is “Great?” - Article by David Mathis on ChurchLeaders
Excerpt: “If we use the word great for the normal and everyday, what language will we have when we need to describe the day or the meal or the game that really is a cut above the typical—or most importantly, the God who really is infinite above all else?”
God has a good plan for you - Article by Bob and Debby Gass on Vision Christian Media
Excerpt: “The Prodigal Son’s older brother was angry with their father because he forgave and restored his younger brother. But his father restored him anyway. You cannot undo the fact of your past sins, but God can heal you from the effects of them. Just come to Him today; take that first step!” The Word for Today Daily Bible Devotional
FOR WORSHIP LEADERS: Presenting the Music – An Excerpt from the Book, “Don’t Fret: The Worship Leader’s Pocketbook” - Article by the late Don Purdey on Worship Leader
Excerpt: “I’ve been to many churches of a number of different denominations, especially over the last three years since I was forced to retire with ill-health, and often I have come away disappointed by the worship. Sometimes the services suffered from poorly chosen and organised music (not flowing or directional), but a considerable part of it was about presentation. Too many churches are playing great songs that should produce worship and yet are somehow not inspiring their people to participate or to connect with God.”
New SONG “ACCESS” - Calvin Nowell - ACCESS (New song written by Calvin Nowell & Mitch Wong)
CHORUS
“No more distance in between us / I have access to Your presence / No more striving to be perfect / By Your great love I’m made righteous / I have access… I have access to Your presence.”
"ACCESS" written by Calvin Nowell & Mitch Wong.

- Our utter helplessness
- The sovereign grace of God”

Current one24worship Poll
Many people take notes during the message at church. Some use a physical handout provided by the church. Others take out their phone and jot some notes down. Of course, there are plenty of mobile apps, too. Still others are “old school” (like me) and bring a journal to write in or a note pad to write on.
So, if you take sermon notes during church, what’s your #1 challenge? Or, to put it another way, if you could solve the #1 problem you have related to taking sermon notes during church, what might that solution look like?
If you’d like to participate in the Current one24worship Poll, please email your response to Current one24worship Poll.
Thank you!
