Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
THERE IS NO HOLDING PATTERN.
This phrase caught my attention while rereading through a section of Jim Cymbala’s classic book, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire this week. (Spoiler: It’s where one of our one24worship Quotes comes from today.) 😀 😉
The phrase was located on a page just opposite and ahead of where I was reading, extracted and bracketed as a quote.
The point Jim was making is when we seek the Lord, He will bless us. And that the more we seek Him, the more we realize our need to seek Him.
We’re either seeking Him or we’re seeking something (or someone) other than Him.
“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Matthew 12:30 ESV
There’s no holding pattern. Pretty convicting, right? 😳
This week, let’s posture ourselves in a direction to keep moving toward Him. By His grace, drawing near to Him, seeking Him and His kingdom, and trusting in His workings through us.
Enjoy!
David
One Verse
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV
Two Quotes
Jim Cymbala
“We are always either drawing nearer to God or falling away. There is no holding pattern.” Jim Cymbala

Four Observations
Understanding the Breakthrough Power of Worship - by “Tommy” at BillyGraham.org
Excerpt: “When we worship, the invisible God is at work doing invisible and powerful things. We get realigned, refreshed and refueled; we find unspeakable joy and indescribable peace. We discover the breakthrough strength of God, which enables us to walk in the truth, live in His presence and see Him fight our battles for us. It is how we can put the beauty of the Gospel on display, receive His many blessings and at the same time be a blessing to the world.” 👉 Read More…
Impossible Callings - at TrainInternational.org
Excerpt: “Missionaries are ordinary people committed to an extraordinary God. They grapple with struggles, often more than we realize. They are imperfect and can harbor many questions. Yet, their obedience to God's calling sets them apart. Through their faith and actions, God softens their hearts, centering their desires with His. It’s far from easy, but following His call is always worth it.” 👉 Read More…
Too Small a God to Worship - by Adrian Rogers at LWF.org
Excerpt: “To have a God that I can worship, He must be a God greater than my mentality. If I could understand God, God would be no bigger than my intellect, which is far too small a god for me to worship. If we could understand God, we wouldn’t need God, but we don’t have to understand Him to know Him.” 👉 Read More…
SONG “No Grave” by Chris Llewellyn and Wil Pearce of Rend Collective - YouTube Video: No Grave - Rend Collective
VERSE ONE & CHORUS
“Last time I checked the tomb was empty
Why am I living like it's not?
I bet my life on resurrection
My fear is done calling the shots
I've got a living, breathing hope
And no good reason to give up!”
”Ain't no grave that could hold Your body down
Ain't no grave could contain my praises now
You're the new life in dead end places
From the wreckage You rise
Cause You're the kinda hope
That doesn't know how to die!”
