Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
one24worship is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
This week’s one24worship verse is from 2 Timothy 1:12. In his commentary on this particular verse, Matthew Henry wrote, "I stand on firm ground. I know I have lodged the great trust in the hands of the best trustee."
As 2023 comes to a close and 2024 begins this next week, may the Lord fill us with a great confidence that, regardless of past or future circumstances, HE IS ABLE!
Enjoy and Happy New Year!
David
One Verse
“…I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.” 2 Timothy 1:12b ESV
Two Quotes
Sammy Tippit
“The purpose of our race isn’t to make us bigger, better, or more well known. His purpose for us is found in His likeness. His purpose takes us down a road of conformity into His image. It’s the path we pursue, the race we run.” Sammy Tippit

5 New Year's Resolutions from Jonathan Edwards - Blog Post by East-West Staff from East-West
Excerpt: “Jonathan Edwards is known as America’s greatest theologian and one of the chief fathers of the Great Awakening. His sermons led hundreds of people to accept the gospel, and his writings have inspired tens of thousands more since his death.
But before he was a great theologian who helped ignite a gospel movement, he was a 19-year-old man with an uncertain future. As he contemplated which direction to take his life, Edwards began writing some guidelines for himself in his diary. He would later call these 70 guidelines his resolutions, and they acted as a compass for his early years as a pastor.”

Current one24worship Poll
Many people take notes during the message at church. Some use a physical handout provided by the church. Others take out their phone and jot some notes down. Of course, there are plenty of mobile apps, too. Still others are “old school” (like me) and bring a journal to write in or a note pad to write on.
So, if you take sermon notes during church, what’s your #1 challenge? Or, to put it another way, if you could solve the #1 problem you have related to taking sermon notes during church, what might that solution look like?
If you’d like to participate in the Current one24worship Poll, please email your response to Current one24worship Poll.
Thank you!
