Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, not just a weekly event.
Here is 1-2-4: one verse/passage, two quotes, and four observations to consider this week.
One Verse/Passage
“Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!’” Revelation 5:11-12 ESV
Two Quotes
[The quotes this week are from taken from two books written by two dear and personal friends of mine, both of which are in Heaven now. Walker Moore passed away suddenly two months ago and Dave Busby died from complications of cystic fibrosis in 1997. My life has been impacted in incalculable ways by knowing them both and their absence makes me even more grateful to know that Heaven is a real place!]
Walker Moore
“The only way that we can love as Jesus loved is to accept and embrace the Father’s love. We can’t love out of a vacuum. We can’t reach into nothing and say, ‘Look what I have to give.’ Only when you are filled with the love of the Father can you extend that love to others.”

Dave Busby
“If I have discovered anything about Christianity, it’s that Christianity is about what’s happening inside. If you allow God to take care of what’s inside, the outside will take care of itself. Man looks on the outward appearance, God looks on the heart.”
[Source: Dave Busby with Terry Hill, The Heart of the Matter: Moving from the External Pressure of Religion to the Internal Passion of Christianity, (Dave Busby, Published by Full Court Press, 1993), pg 9]
Four Observations
“People online don’t have a great reputation for speaking the truth. And even when they do it, it’s just as likely to be spoken in disdain as in love. The internet version of Ephesians 4:15 might be, “Shouting falsehoods in anger.” How’s that for a shareable meme?”
“If I were to ask you to name the most important invention of the last thousand years, what would come to mind?
If you are considering our current era, you would probably say the internet. But if you are thinking about the previous era, you might say the internal combustion engine. And other nominations would likely percolate toward the top: electricity, antibiotics, and air travel.”
I met Nathan Nockels a little over 20 years ago, during the formative years of the Passion Movement. This summer, Nathan released his very first solo project, an amazing 12-song instrumental record entitled, “Everywhere the River Goes.” If you are unfamiliar with Nathan, his newly-launched YouTube Channel describes him as,
“Acclaimed producer, songwriter and composer Nathan Nockels has spent the better part of the past three decades helming records for other artists. Responsible for bringing GRAMMY® award-winning selections like Matt Redman’s “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)” and Laura Story’s “Blessings” to life…”
I’ve added “Everywhere the River Goes” to my Playlist and have it playing even now, as I write this newsletter. If you’re like me and you try to start each day with your Bible, a journal, and a cup of coffee, this album is a soothing addition to have playing in the background.
Thank you, Nathan. I’m loving the record! Well done!

SONG by Christy Nockels from Her Album “This Is The Hour” - Christy Nockels - Come Magnify [Official Lyric Video]
This week’s SONG is from Christy Nockels’ newest record, “This is the Hour.” And yes, this album is also on my Playlist. 🙂
CHORUS
“Come magnify the Lord with me / Come magnify the Lord with me / And lift our faces up to majesty / Come magnify the Lord with me.”
"Come Magnify" by Christy Nockels, Jason Ingram, Nathan Nockels
Until next week,
David Guion

“It’s one thing to be taught about the grace of God. It’s another thing to experience it!” Butch Ikels
Current one24worship Poll
Many people take notes during the message at church. Some use a physical handout provided by the church. Others take out their phone and jot some notes down. Still others are “old school” (like me) and bring a journal to write in or a note pad to write on.
So, if you take sermon notes during church, what’s your #1 challenge? Or, to put it another way, if you could solve the #1 problem you have related to taking sermon notes during church, what would that solution look like?
You can email your response to Current one24worship Poll.
Thank you!
