Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Yesterday morning, I had breakfast with a dear friend. We’ve been friends for almost 40 years now! And even though we had not seen each other face to face in several months, we seemed to pick right up like no time had passed since our last encounter.
After some brief catching up, we talked through some struggles and some upcoming opportunities, and then ordered something to eat. Before we realized it, an hour and a half had passed! We both had to rather hurriedly head off to other commitments.
I’ve heard Doug Stringer say many times,
“The Kingdom of God advances along the pathway of relationships.” Doug Stringer
I was reminded of the truth of Doug’s statement again yesterday and was also reminded of how truly grateful I am for the many relationships I have, like the one with my breakfast friend.
As we come to the close of this first month of 2025, as one24worshipers, perhaps we could all take just a moment and reach out to someone we haven’t connected with in awhile because… the pathway of relationships is truly how the Kingdom of God advances!
Enjoy!
David

Four Observations
The Man on the Middle Cross - by Alistair Begg at TruthForLife.org
Excerpt: “Jesus was crucified between two convicted criminals—and those criminals both heard the words of Christ, yet they responded very differently. The first dying man regarded the cross as a contradiction. He concluded that because Jesus was on the cross, He was no Savior. So he ridiculed the man on the middle cross: “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” (Luke 23:39). But the second man saw the cross as confirmation. He recognized that because Jesus was on the cross, He must be the Savior.” 👉 Read More…
East-West Ministry Update - from Barry and Lawanna St. Clair at EastWest.org
Excerpt: “For nearly 50 years I have sent out monthly newsletters, but never one with dramatic persecution this intense. Though elongated and with unsettling photos, this update gives you a glimpse into Christian persecution and the challenge to penetrate the youth culture in difficult places around the world.” 👉 Read More…
FOR MEN: Faith-Based Goal Setting for the New Year - by Brett Clemmer at ManInTheMirror.com
Excerpt: “I just cancelled my gym membership. It was not necessarily a ‘New Year’s Resolution’ per se, but I did get it in January…two years ago. The day I cancelled it was the second time I had been in the gym. Pathetic, I know!
Most New Year’s Resolutions are like this – well-intentioned and short-lived. And focused on ‘fixing’ something we don’t like about ourselves. But truly, if simply knowing you had a weakness you should fix was enough, you wouldn’t need a resolution…or a sale on gym memberships.” 👉 Read More…

VERSE TWO & CHORUS
“With hearts like lamps that burn / As light upon the earth / We wait for His return Amen / No fear of what's to come / Our hope set in the One / Who said that it is done. Amen…
Prepare the way The King is coming / Enthroned on praise The King is coming / The last, the first, the living Word In glory shall return / We prepare the way / Jesus, we prepare the way!”

The article, The Man on the Middle Cross, spoke, to my heart in such a strong way, it caused me to cry. The Lord showed me something that I had never seen so clearly before. Jesus, is the Middle Man, between man kind and God. In John 14:6 He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." The man that asked Jesus to remember him, when Jesus came into His kingdom, was given salvation. Jesus told him that he would be with Him after death. This answers another question. Is there such a thing as a death bed confession? The answer is yes. Although, we should not live in such a way that we are going to ask Jesus for salvation, when we are breathing our last breath. Thank you Lord for sending Jesus, to live and die for us, so we can live forever with you. He is the only way to you. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that lives in each of us as your children.
