Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse/passage, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Well, I just celebrated another birthday this week and I’m an amazingly blessed man. So many friends reached out to wish me a Happy Birthday! Yes, I’m blessed!
To celebrate with me, my family came to the house for some of my “world famous” tortilla soup and to help me decorate for Christmas… complete with the first fire of the year burning in the fireplace! 🔥
Each year on my birthday, I’m reminded of what James wrote…
“What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” James 4:14b ESV
As another year has passed, I’m especially grateful for all of the close relationships and friendships in my life. Yes, I’m a blessed man!
During this Advent season, I hope this edition of one24worship finds that this same sentiment is true for you, too.
Enjoy!
David
One Verse

Four Observations
Now’s the Time To Consider a New Year’s Resolution - by Tim Challies at Challies.com
Excerpt: “The Bible says nothing about New Year’s resolutions. It does, however, say a lot about resolutions in general—about the determination and resolve to improve our character, to sharpen our habits, and to live better in the future than we did in the past. In other words, the determination and resolve to be more like Christ.” 👉 Read More…
8 Proofs that the Bible Is One Story - by M. R. Conrad at RootedThinking.com
Excerpt: “Does the Bible sometimes seem random to you? What does Hezekiah have to do with Philemon? How is Enoch connected to Ruth? What do battles in ancient Mesopotamia have to do with the church? Is the Bible really all one story?” 👉 Read More…
4 Steps to Praying Like Jesus - by Kurt Nelson at EastWest.org
Excerpt: “Corrie Ten Boom once asked, ‘Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?’ My heart’s desire is to live a life guided by prayer. I want to intentionally pray over every facet of my life, from daily tasks to my family to God’s work among the nations. Being diligent in prayer is not my idea but rather something we all learn from studying the life of Jesus.” 👉 Read More…
