Happy New Year one24worshipers!
For the past year and a half on each Thursday morning, The one24worship Newsletter has arrived in your email inbox as a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse/passage, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
As I wrote last week, I’ve been limiting my engagement on the Internet for about two weeks and this intentional “unplugging moment” has been both refreshing and replenishing.
My brother and I spent a few days over Christmas with our family in Mississippi and we are truly glad we made the trip. It was so good to spend time with several members of our family.
And now, like many of you in the United States, I’ve been saddened and disturbed by the events yesterday in New Orleans and Las Vegas, especially in light of the season we’ve just come through…
“…on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:14 KJV
The birth of Jesus centuries ago initiated a new day, a new hope. And yet, Jesus Himself declared that…
“…In the world ye shall have tribulation:” John 16:33 KJV
But He did not stop there! He went on to say…
“…but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV
So, even though the first day of 2025 has brought with it some very tragic circumstances in the USA, we can still find hope. Yes, we will face suffering and difficulties in this new year, but that’s not the end of the story.
We can still have hope - because Jesus has overcome the world!
Happy New Year!
David
