Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
one24worship is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Pride and humility are consistently ever-present realities at odds within us.
How often do we find ourselves attempting to face life’s circumstances in our own strength? Weekly, daily, perhaps hourly, at times?
Trials, difficulties, sickness, and suffering are powerful events that the Lord uses to reveal our inadequacy and His sufficiency.
And into these settings, we need a gift. A gift of His grace.
Which is why Paul was able to embrace this truth, “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV
Praying that the power of Christ may rest upon us this week!
David
One Verse
“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” James 4:6 ESV
Two Quotes
Kevin DeYoung
“Pride is subtle and shape-shifting. There is more of it at work in our hearts than we know, and more of it pulsing through our busyness than we realize. Pride is the villain with a thousand faces.” Kevin DeYoung

Four Observations
Who Is Jesus? The Resurrection and the Life - Blog Post by Robb Brunansky at Desert Hills Bible Church
Excerpt: “We read in Psalm 23 that the Lord is our shepherd, and we know the first half of the psalm focuses on the shepherd’s care and provision for His sheep. The psalm does not end there, however. The valley of the shadow of death comes as we follow the good shepherd. Having the good shepherd does not mean we avoid that valley, but that Jesus walks through the many challenges, trials, and tribulations of life with us.”

What Is the Meaning of John 4:24? (Worship in the Spirit) - Blog Post by Jeffery Curtis Poor at Rethink
Excerpt: “To worship God in spirit means that we engage our entire being. True worship is not just about external actions or physical locations. Rather it involves our hearts, minds, and souls in connection with our creator. This means that we are giving our whole selves to God. When we decided to follow God every part of our being must be brought into submission.
To worship God in truth continues this idea. It means that we align our lives with what he has revealed to us through his Word. This means that we don’t just say the right words, but we live them out. When we worship in truth we ground our lives and actions in God’s Word.”

6 Reasons to Sit in a Different Seat at Church This Weekend - Blog Post (from a few years ago) by Chuck Lawless at ChuckLawless .com
Excerpt: “Most of us have a habit of sitting in the same place in church on Sunday, and I realize that nobody else is calling for changing this pattern. Nevertheless, I press on with my reasons that you and I should sit in a different place at church this weekend.”
