Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
These certainly are interesting days! Hashtag #understatement! 😀 😆 😉
The daily news cycle is spinning faster than a windmill in a tornado! Sounds of uncertainty and concern can be heard in the voices and conversations of so many. I don’t believe I’ve ever experienced a more tumultuous season within my lifetime.
This week’s one24worship One Verse is an encouragement for us to not give into fear, but rather to receive from the Lord a spirit of power, love, and self-control.
When we treasure the Lord above the circumstances and are mindful of who He is and what He has done, we can move forward into potentially uncertain and concerning days ahead, with both confidence and hope securely placed in Him!
Enjoy!
David

Four Observations
Yes, God Really Does Desire Your Happiness in Him - Blog Post by Charlene Nelson at EPM .org
Excerpt: “When I became a Christian at age 18, I found happiness. For a long time, I was so filled with joy that I could hardly do my makeup in the morning, since my happy tears kept pouring down my face washing it off. I no longer had to lie down in dread and rise in anxiety. At last I could rest, not needing to thrill-seek tirelessly, running my body into the ground trying to avoid my aching conscience.” 👉 Read More…
Maybe We Make Meditation Too Difficult - Article by Tim Challies at Challies .com
Excerpt: “Most people diligently make time to read the Bible and pray. And yet, while most people have good intentions when it comes to meditation, it so often seems to get displaced. After all, life is busy, the world is noisy, and meditation is a challenge.” 👉 Read More…
Why Does God Allow Suffering? - Article Excerpted from a Sermon by Billy Graham at BillyGraham .org
Excerpt: “God never meant that there would be tragedy and prejudice, wars and hatred, lust and greed, jealousy and pride. God meant that the earth was to be a paradise, a place where there would be no death.
But man and woman rebelled against God. We began to suffer and we have been dying ever since. Physical death is just the death of the body, but the spirit lives on. If your spirit is separated from God for eternity, it will be lost forever.
But God has provided a gigantic rescue in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. That’s why Christ died on the cross. That’s why He rose from the dead.” 👉 Read More…

BRIDGE
“Open wide, ancient doors / Let the King of glory in / Shout it out, the world can’t ignore / Let the King of glory in / Open wide, o my soul / Let the King of Glory in / With hands held high, to the one we adore / Let the King of Glory in!”
