Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
TURNAROUND
I’ve known Senator James Lankford for over 35 years. We met and served together during several summers while we were both Youth Pastors in Texas.
He’s a man of integrity, “driven by his faith in Jesus, a love for his family, and his hope for our nation.”
Senator Lankford’s new book, TURNAROUND: America’s Revival came out this week on Tuesday and I’m loving reading through it! The book is a self-described light switch in the darkness, and I agree!
From the Introduction, Senator Lankford briefly mentions in three short sentences, almost in passing, a simple three-step plan for solving our biggest national challenges.
I’ve illustrated his three sentences like this…
These are not political party ideals; these are pure and righteous principles. (And it’s one of our one24worship Quotes this week.)
On a more personal level, this made me think of the Biblical word for a “turnaround.” It’s the word, “repent.” In it’s most simplistic form, the word “repent” means “to change the mind.”
In other words…
To turn around.
That’s the word repent. To change your mind. To turn around. (And the word “repent” is a very good word!)
Today, as one24worshipers, are there ways that the Lord may be calling us to be open to repentance? To change our mind? Ways that we should be willing to turn around?
To work and not whine.
To pray and not complain.
To lift up and not tear down.
Enjoy!
David
One Verse
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34 ESV
Two Quotes
Senator James Lankford
“Working is so much better than whining. Praying is so much better than complaining. Lifting up is so much better than tearing down.” Senator James Lankford

Kie Bowman
“It is difficult to find an important story in Scripture that cannot be traced to prayer. Ever since that anonymous group formed the first prayer meeting in Genesis 4:26 and ‘…people began to call upon the name of the LORD,’ believers have prioritized prayer.” Kie Bowman

Four Observations
The Conquering of Sin and the Death of Death - by Robb Brunansky at DesertHillsChurch.com
Excerpt: “How is that Jesus rising from the grave almost 2,000 years ago can give us the victory over sin? The answer to that question is what Romans 6:8-11 is about. We must understand that Jesus’ victory over sin and death through His resurrection guarantees our victory, and we need to know how to appropriate that resurrection power in our lives.” 👉 Read More…
Full Fellowship and Complete Joy - by Caleb Gorton at ABWE.org
Excerpt: “Conversion is not the ultimate goal of missions. While, in some ways, it is the goal of the missionary, it is only a step toward the ultimate goal, which is to glorify God and enjoy him forever as we share intimate fellowship with him.” 👉 Read More…
For the Good News to Be Good, the Bad News Must Be Bad - by Michael Kelley at MichaelKelley.co
Excerpt: “Perhaps one of the reasons why the gospel ceases to be such good news is because our hearts haven’t been shaken up in a while. Maybe the reason the good news doesn’t seem all that good is because we’ve forgotten how bad the bad news really is.” 👉 Read More…

VERSE TWO
“cross bound you toyed with death / no love lost you dusted off the grave / a tyrants end an open door / you took my worst and you washed it all away, / no pride no shame just my heart drenched in grace.”

I read your newsletter 5 or 6 times, each time 2 things stood out to me. The first was turn around, I kept thinking of Jimmy Dean's song "Turn Around", The other was your reference to being shaken up, because of sediments that seem to gather in the bottom of some products, even in people. That made me thing of Elvis and his song, "All Shook Up". Today the Lord gave me this short poem.
Turn around, He paid the cost.
Turn around, you are lost.
Turn around, He arose from the grave.
Turn around, your soul He will save.
