Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
This week’s One Verse is a very familiar passage from Revelation 3 where Jesus is declaring to the Church in Laodicea that He is standing at the door and knocking, longing and waiting to come into His church.
👉 Revelation 3:20 is a wonderful verse for sharing the Gospel and, contextually, it has powerful implications beyond evangelism. dg
This past Sunday morning, I shared a message from Luke 11 where a friend goes to his neighbor’s house, late at night, knocking on his door persistently, seeking some assistance with his need for food.
In Revelation 3:20, Jesus promises that, “If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” And in Luke 11:9, Jesus says, “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
So, I’ve been pondering these two verses together this week and I invite you into my “pondering.”
Is there any place in our lives today where Jesus is the one knocking on the door of our heart, wanting and awaiting an answer?
And…
Is the any place in our lives today where we are asking, seeking, and knocking on Heaven’s door, in prayer, wanting and awaiting an answer?
Wouldn’t it be something if those two places were exactly the same place?
Enjoy!
David

Four Observations
The Difference Between Mercy and Grace - by Will Graham at BillyGraham.org
Excerpt: “Grace and mercy. Mercy and grace. Two terms that are often used interchangeably. They go hand-in-hand, but there is indeed a difference.” 👉 Read More…
Prayer: Yielding Control - by Iann Schonken at TheDailyChristian.org
Excerpt: “Let's be honest: sometimes our prayers can feel more like giving God a to-do list than surrendering to His will. We come with our own agendas and expectations, subtly trying to convince Him to see things our way.” 👉 Read More…
If My People - by Richard Blackaby at RichardBlackaby.com
Excerpt: “The problem in every generation is that God’s people don’t want to admit that the problem lies with them. Surely the problem is Washington, Hollywood, Wall Street, or evil businesspeople. They need to repent. But if the young people of our church have all become prodigals, it is Christian adults who must repent for not being the salt and light our children needed us to be. Unfortunately, it is far easier to blame someone else than to humble ourselves.” 👉 Read More…
