Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
one24worship is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
Sadly, Dr. Henry Blackaby passed away last Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 88. He is perhaps best known for the Bible study material entitled, Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God, first released in 1990.
Without question, countless numbers of people around the world have been deeply impacted by Dr. Blackaby’s life and ministry.
I am one of those people.
In tribute, the Two Quotes this week are taken from two books co-written by Dr. Blackaby; Spiritual Leadership: Moving People on to God's Agenda and On Mission with God: Living God's Purpose for His Glory.
Enjoy!
David
One Verse
“So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.’” John 5:19 ESV

Four Observations
The Power of Pre-Decision - Blog Post by Craig Groeschel at Bible Gateway
Excerpt: “As James Clear says, ‘Every decision you make is a vote toward who you will become.’ That’s why we need to think ahead. That’s why we have to think ahead. Each seemingly inconsequential decision has such value because our decisions are rarely isolated. Have you noticed how good decisions tend to compound in the right direction and bad decisions tend to compound in the wrong direction?”

Ready for Church: 5 Ways to Be Present in Worship - Article by Alex Mark at The Gospel Coalition
Excerpt: “What more awful assessment could a person hear from the One he presumes to worship than that it was all in vain? Yet each of us is probably more guilty of this vanity than we’d like to admit. It’s easy to go through the motions of worship without engaging our hearts.”

Will We Ever Disagree in Heaven? - Blog Post by Randy Alcorn at Eternal Perspective Ministries
Excerpt: “Uniqueness and differences existed before sin and will exist after it. Only God has infinite wisdom and knowledge. We should expect some differences in perspective, but we should also expect an ability to resolve them without rancor or bruised egos. Imagine the ability to question and challenge without any malice and to be questioned and challenged without a hint of defensiveness.”
