Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
one24worship is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
This week’s one24worship speaks to the entering of a new year as one24worshipers. And while most of us begin a new year or a new season of life with great resolve, past experience has taught that even the best of intentions face challenges and obstacles.
Doubtless, 2024 will be the same. So, into this setting, our resilience and reliance must be firmly based upon the inexhaustible and immeasurable grace of God.
As I wrote in The one24worship Newsletter last week from 2 Timothy 1:12…
He is able!
I believe this well may become my theme for 2024…
HE IS ABLE!
Enjoy and Happy New Year!
David
One Verse
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 ESV
Two Quotes
Kelly Needham
“…there is a truth that changes everything: we weren’t made to do something, but to know Someone. And it’s that Someone who can infuse our lives with infinite purpose and meaning.” Kelly Needham

Toby Shockey
“When we see the pleasures of this life as gifts from God, we come to better understand His heart towards His children. Our obedience to His commands proceeds not out of a religious ritual but from a glad heart that understands His commands are given for our good.” Toby Shockey

Four Observations
Good New Year Resolves Begin and End with God - Blog Post by Marshall Segal available at Eternal Perspective Ministries
Excerpt: “Before you make resolves for the new year — before you start a reading plan, or choose a diet, or buy a journal, or step on a treadmill — find a why worth changing for. As many more have observed before me, our resolutions often wilt because we didn’t have a why big enough to weather the inevitable temptations, distractions, and setbacks.
So what will your why be for the year to come? For me, I want my life to prove the worth of my calling from God. Not my calling to ministry, but my calling to God — the calling every genuine Christian shares.”
Running the Race of Life - Blog Post by Greg Laurie from Harvest
Excerpt: “As we prepare for 2024, we need to remember that we are running a spiritual race.
In Acts 20, we find the apostle Paul’s words to the leaders of the church in Ephesus, ‘But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus…’ (verse 24 NKJV). These were things that really mattered to the great apostle.”
5 Steps for Staying on Track with Your Bible Reading Plan - Blog Post by Alexa Hess from The Daily Grace Co.
Excerpt: “At the start of the new year, many of us excitedly set goals for the year ahead. With the whole year in front of us, we often feel like anything is possible, and that we can finally work toward the goals we have always wanted to achieve. One of those goals amongst many Christians is to read the Bible in a year. We want to read the whole Bible in a year, or at least every day of the year. […] So what can we do to stay on track with our Bible reading?”
New SONG “My God Can” from Katy Nichole & Naomi Raine - YouTube Link: Katy Nichole - "My God Can" (feat. Naomi Raine) [Official Lyric Video]
CHORUS
“I might not be able to part the waters / Might not be able to calm the storms / Might not be able to make my giants fall / But good thing I’m not alone / Cause there is a power that is greater / So I’m not afraid of what’s ahead / I’m standing in the confidence / That even though I can’t / My God can.”

Current one24worship Poll
There are a variety of ways to read and study the Bible. As one24worshipers, our motive to read God’s Word typically includes drawing closer to the Lord, gaining a deeper understanding of the Scriptures, and to progress and grow in our personal relationship with the Lord.
So, during 2024, do you have a preferred Bible Reading Plan?
