Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
one24worship is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights... 1-2-4: one verse, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
As we progress beyond the first half of this initial month in the new year, if you're like me, you may have already encountered some "interruptions" to your plans and intentions for 2024.
Welcomed interruptions, such as an old friend reaching out or receiving good news that pleasantly alters our schedule, can be a positive thing. However, others may be seen as unexpected and disappointing inconveniences.
My late friend, Walker Moore, used to say, "Every disappointment is God’s divine appointment." Such a good reminder.
Instead of allowing unexpected "interruptions" to bring disappointment, may we seek to humble ourselves, pray, and trust the Master Storyteller to write our story in the good times and the bad.
(Easier said than done, right?)
That’s the aim of this week’s one24worship.
Enjoy!
David
One Verse
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:14b

Steve Saint
“I have come to understand that life is too complex and much too short to let amateurs direct the story. I would rather let the Master Storyteller do the writing.” Steve Saint

Four Observations
Christian and a World Christian: How to Accept God’s Invitation and Command to Become a World Christian - Article by Kate Sego at The Traveling Team
Excerpt: “A World Christian is a Christian who has closely read God’s invitation into his global mission and has taken active steps to ‘attend’ by obeying his commands. World Christians have a different perspective than your average Christian on three things: God’s word, God’s world, and God’s work.”

Is God Really Good? How to Be Trained in Truth - Blog Post by Susie Larson at Bible Gateway
Excerpt: “The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He’s not impatient with us. He knows how perpetually we fall into the Enemy’s traps and how quickly we believe his lies. But He does intend for us to mature and grow. There are things He wants us to know—some of which we’re not ready for until we’ve won some victories and have gained new ground. Because our healing most often comes in layers, so does our knowledge of and capacity for the truth.”

Current one24worship Poll
There are a variety of ways to read and study the Bible. As one24worshipers, our motive to read God’s Word typically includes drawing closer to the Lord, gaining a deeper understanding of the Scriptures, and to progress and grow in our personal relationship with the Lord.
So, during 2024, do you have a preferred Bible Reading Plan?
Thank you!
