Faith is Belief

In this week's newsletter, dated Feb. 8, two of the subject's discussed were anxiety and faith. I suffered from anxiety all of my childhood and into my adult life. It was difficult for me to believe that anyone loved me. Faith in God gave me a security that Jesus loved me so much that He died for me and the whole world. I wrote a poem on faith that is about Jesus and His faith in His Father's (God) will for Jesus life.

Faith Is Believeing

Faith is believeing, that Jesus Christ was born by a virgin birth.

That Jesus lived a perfect life, while He was here on Earth.

This happened by the perfect plan and will of God,

As Jesus followed His Father's will, with every step He trod.

He walked the roads, healed the sick, and raised the dead. Teaching the word of God, and in His heart knowing what was ahead.

The Crucifixon was before Him but He pressed on.

The Ressurection would soon follow and the He would go home.

Just as He ascended into air, we know that one day we will meet Him there.

Heaven is the place where we will one day be.

Where we will worship, sing, and play throughout eternity.

Unanswerrd Prayers

First we need to remember that God loves us above all else. He knows that we are frustrated and hurt. Sometimes,we can't understand the reason why God has not answered our prayers. We can be sure that God loves us and the way He answers our prayers is for us to grow stronger in our faith. These are two examples of stressful prayers that were answered differently than what they prayed for.

The first one was King David, his son was dying, and he prayed day and night in sack cloth and ashes that God would heal his son. This was not to be, his son died. King David accepted his death. His friends could not believe that he bathed, put on clean clothes, and ate. His reply to their negative reaction was to say; My son cannot come back to me, but someday I will go to him. Sometimes, God's answer is much different than we have prayed.

The second prayer that really touches my heart, is Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane . He goes to His Father in prayer 3 times. He asked, O Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will. After the third time that He prayed, He arose and turned Himself over to the ones to whom Judas had betrayed Him to.

Jesus was led away to Caiaphas. Later they bound Him and led Him to Pontius Pilate, the governor. He was beaten, and crown of thorns was placed on His head, and He was crucified on a cross. This was not the end, only the beginning of eternal life. Jesus, the Son of God, was crucified and rose again, so that we all could have eternal life. This is accomplished by asking Jesus to forgive us of our sins and come into our hearts and be our Lord and Savior. His death and resurection also gave us the the Holy Spirit a direct path, to go to God the Father in prayer. What a wonderful blessing to be able to go directly to God in prayer. We do not understand a lot of things that happen in life; we need to always remember when we are waiting on prayers to be answered, His ways are higher than ours.
