Welcome to this issue of one24worship - Because worship is a daily lifestyle, one 24-hour day at a time, not just a weekly event.
The one24worship Newsletter is a weekly offering of inspiration, ideas, and insights landing in your email inbox every Thursday... 1-2-4: one verse/passage, two quotes, and four observations at a time.
D-DAY, FINISH EMPTY®, and KING WHO NEVER SLEEPS: ANTHEMS FOR REST
So, last Friday, June 6, was evidently a BIG day!
First, it was the 81st anniversary of D-Day last Friday.
“On June 6, 1944, the Allies launched the long-anticipated invasion of Normandy, France. Soldiers from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations faced Hitler's formidable Atlantic Wall as they landed on the beaches of Normandy.”1
As I mentioned last Thursday in The one24worship Newsletter, “We would do well to […] give thanks to the Lord for those members of The Greatest Generation who helped save the world 80 decades ago.”
Second, Jason Curry’s new book, Finish Empty® was released last Friday.
“…Jason has committed his life to equipping others. From boardrooms to locker rooms and classrooms, his influence spans industries and generations—but always returns to one clear mission: helping people live and lead with purpose.”2
I ordered Jason’s book and have been reading through it every chance I get! Both of the one24worship Two Quotes today are taken from Chapters 4 & 5.
The Finish Empty® website says this about Jason’s book:
“This book is for anyone ready to stop drifting and start living with direction. If you’re ready to think with purpose, act with clarity, and finish with nothing left undone—Finish Empty® is your next step.”3
Third, Christy Nockels released her new album, King Who Never Sleeps: Anthems for Rest last Friday.
“Whether she’s singing a lullaby, belting out an anthem, hosting her podcast or mentoring worship leaders, Christy’s heart is not only to lead people to connect and communicate with the living God, but to learn to live from their true identity as His beloved and from a heart of rest.”4
More than likely, you won’t hear Christy’s newer music on outlets like K-Love or Air1. That’s why her new record, King Who Never Sleeps: Anthems for Rest is featured below as one of our one24worship Observations this week.
Have great week!
Enjoy!
David

FOUR OBSERVATIONS
1. 10 Aspects of True Biblical Worship - by Joseph Mattera at JosephMattera.org
“Worship is not merely a Sunday practice but a lifestyle that permeates every dimension of our being.” Joseph Mattera
Article Excerpt: “Worship has to do with ascribing to the Lord worth or value. It aligns with the first commandment: to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5). As we explore this topic, we find that worship is the reason why we were created and the ultimate expression of our lives. The angelic beings, who are constantly before the throne of God, embody this truth, holding the greatest position and authority in the heavenly hierarchy due to their continual worship of the Creator (Revelation 4:8-11).” 👉 Read More…
2. Servant-Leadership: How Jesus Redefines Greatness - by Steve Auld at Logos.com
“Servant-leadership is not self-focused, self-serving, or self-glorifying; rather, it is a selfless and humble willingness to serve and act for the eternal spiritual good of others.” Steve Auld
Article Excerpt: “Jesus is saying that Christian leadership is unlike the leadership patterns of this world. Christian leadership is about humbling yourself to serve and lift up others. It’s viewing every act of leadership as a way to serve others and build them up. It is not self-focused; it is self-forgetting.” 👉 Read More…
3. George Shinn’s 4 Insights on How God Uses Imperfect People, Perfectly - by George Shinn at MaxwellLeadership.com
“Your flaws don’t end your story. They’re how grace begins.” George Shinn
Article Excerpt: “By the world’s standards, I didn’t have the credentials to succeed. I struggled in school, battled insecurity, and carried the weight of more failures than I could count. But what I’ve learned—what this entire journey has taught me—is that God doesn’t wait for perfection. He looks for surrender.” 👉 Read More…
4. ALBUM “King Who Never Sleeps: Anthems for Rest” New Record by Christy Nockels
“King Who Never Sleeps” BRIDGE & CHORUS
BRDG “You’re out there making Your rounds / Your angels are running this town / They’re with me right here, right now / All around me! / As You bring rest to my soul / l’ll trust You with all I know / You’re holding this big, broken world / So I can just breathe!”
CHO “You’re the King who never sleeps… / You never worry / And You never grow weary / And nothing in this world is farther than Your reach / Jesus, nobody has Your understanding! / So everything that I love is safest in Your keep / King who never sleeps!”
