I loved the article about William Carey. He was far a ove his time, in how the ministry, of Jesus Christ, should or could be shared. However, my heart always clings to music and singing. This week brought a wonderful memory of music back to me. In a previous church, when I was about 27 years old, a man who played the guitar heard me sing. He asked me if I would go to the nursing homes on Saturdays, and sing with him. I said yes and was blessed meet a wonderful gentleman, who lived ay the nursing home. He loved my singing and wrote a poem about me. I found the poem this week in an old foot locker that I put it in, many years ago. It says;

She has the voice of angel and a face we all should love and I know she was sent from heaven above. To cheer us on our way, and make us all feel merry and brighten our lonely days. She sings about Christ our Savior who died upon the tree. He came to this world to save us from our misery. You can tell by her face she meant it. She sings so honest and sweet. I have been in lots of places and no one like her to meet. Although, I do not know her name to me it is all the same. She is guided by Christ the Savior to cheer us on our way. We hope to reach heaven's portal and there forever to stay.

This is why I sing.

He died a few month's after he wrote this. He had one leg missing and usually kept

to himself. The nurses told me he never came out of his room to visit anyone, except when my friend and I came to sing. I am so glad God put a love in my heart for music and for people who need to hear music, in their life. Someday, I will see this wondeful man again and I believe God will be smiling.
